Had to get to Lac Blanc today and endured some tough hills. Saw lots of World War memorials on the way.

At some point, while you’re hiking and walking over big rocks, you will see a large flat rock that looks stable enough to put your foot on.

Don’t count on it.

And after you step on the rock and it gives away from under you, your first instinct will be to flail your arms around to grab something to hold on to. Nine out of ten times, it’ll be a branch or a plant with thorns.

You can count on it.
